MoBA holds meeting on human resource development of border areas ethnic nationalities

THE Ministry of Border Affairs held a coordination meeting of the Department of Education and Training on Human Resource Development of Border Areas Ethnic Nationalities (2/2021) yesterday morning by virtual system.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, the Permanent Secretary and Directors-General, Deputy Directors-General, the Acting Rector of the University for the Development of the National Races, principals of the degree colleges and officials from the respective states and regions.
At the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the need to complete the preparation following the COVID-19 guidelines for the PhD programmes, master and final year courses of the universities and degree colleges would reopen on May 5. Plans are also underway to reopen the basic education schools. Preparation must be made to reopen ethnic youth development training schools in the border areas. Coordination will be made for the COVID-19 vaccination to the teachers, staff and students, he added.
He pointed out that it is necessary to complete the construction works approved by the schools for the 2020-2021FY as per the set standards and quality.
The staff and students should use the buildings properly. The meeting discussed the status of human resource development in the border areas, preparation for reopening schools, and the status of the construction work in the 2020-2021FY. 
The Ministry of Border Affairs has prepared to reopen the training for 4,156 trainees currently attending the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree Colleges in Yangon and Sagaing and 5,229 trainees at the Border Region Youth Development Training Schools in the border areas. — MNA
