Cooperation with the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia-AMDA

In cooperation with Progress of Border Areas and National Races Department, Ministry of Border Affairs and the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia-AMDA, three phases of project are being implemented from 2004 to 2014 with US$ 2.541 million which is utilized for the project activities such as food security, basic helath care, maternal and children nutrition activity, basic infrastructure development in Northern Shan State and Kokang region.

As the first phase project from 2004 to 2014 utilized with US$ 0.580 million in Kokang region, there were implemented as the project activities such as food security, construction of health center, support for medical equipment, construction of ideal toilet, infant care giving, maternal and children nutrition activity, medical equipment use technical training and then as the second phase project from 2007 to 2009 utilized with US$ 0.400 million, there implemented for the project activities as maternal and children nutrition activity, school supports, small community building construction, small business and income promotion in Manlaw, Tarshwehtan, Kyarsishuu, Hopinchan, Myintzushan, Lautkine and Konegyan townships. Moreover, the third phase project from 2012 to 2014 used with US$ 1.561 million which was implemented for health care training, capacity building for the local residents as voluntary, support for Vaccination and feeding, water supply activity, construction of ideal toilet in Lautkine, Konegyan and Namtmatu townships in the Northern Shan State, Kokang region.
