  • Background Information of Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College, Yangon

    According to the meeting decision of the Union of Myanmar Government Meeting (21/ 99) held on 17th June, 1999, the Working Committee for the Implementation of the Development of Border Areas and National Races submitted it to the State Peace and Development Council. Thus, on 30th June, 1999, with the official letter no. 21/99, AhPhaYa 99 (72), the constitution of the Department of Education and Training was permitted and it was established on that day. Afterwards, the two Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree Colleges (Yangon & Sagaing) were established starting from 2000-2001 academic year, under the supervision of the Department of Education and Training. The Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College, Yangon was firstly opened at the Tiger Philanthropic School which was situated at Kamayut Station Street, Hlaing Township on 15th June, 2000 and then the college was transferred to plot No.3383, Land surveying Quarter No. 61, Sittaung Road, Dagon Seikkan Township and was opened on 5th July 2005.

Afterwards, the two Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree Colleges (Yangon & Mandalay) were established starting from 2000-2001 academic year, under the supervision of the Department of Education and Training.

    According to the instruction of the Head of the State, the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College, Mandalay was established at the Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region from 12th July 2000 to 14th September 2012 and it was transferred to Ministry of Education on 14th November 2012. Starting from 1st October 2012, the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College, Mandalay was moved to the campus of the University for the Development of the National races of the Union and established as the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College, Sagaing. 

    In order to establish the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College, Sagaing separately, according to the instruction of Union Minister and the Prime Minister of the Sagaing Region, the Sagaing Degree College is established at the Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region beside the Mandalay- Mounywar Highway Road in Ohndaw Village tract from milestone no.26/2 to 26/4 having the land area of 61-93 acres. It has been established from 2013-2014 academic year till now.

                   Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College, Yangon is located at plot No.3383, Land-surveying Quarter No.61, Sittaung Road, Dagon Seikkan Township, Yangon Region. It is 31.516 acres in area. The permission on land-use has been approved with the official letter no. Makha/ Matha/ 36 L-2002 (2036) by the Department of Urban and Housing Development, Ministry of Construction on 24th, September 2002.

                   It is located in Ohndaw Village Tract beside the Mandalay- Mounywar Highway Road, from milestone no.26/2 to 26/4 at the Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region. It is 61.93 acres in area.
