The University for the Development

     The University for the Development of the National Races of the Union (UDNR) was established as the Academy for Development of National Groups (ADNG) in Sagaing on 20th October 1964 with the aim of nurturing national youths to become highly-qualified educational personnel dedicated to socio-economic development and solidarity of national races. The ADNG was upgraded to the University by law Notification No(9/91) of State Law and Order Restoration Council on 10th May 1991. was under the supervision of Civil Service   Selection and Training Board, now Union Civil  Service Board, but it has been handed over to  the  Ministry of  Border Affairs since 1st April 2012.

The Objectives of the University are as follows:

(a) To strengthen the Union spirit among the national races of the Union while residing in a friendly atmosphere in pursuing education at the University;

(b) To preserve and understand the culture and good custom and traditions of the national races of the Union;

(c) To promote the spirit of  desiring to serve in order to raise the standard of living of the national races of the Union;

(d) To raise the quality of leadership and efficiency in  carrying out the development of the national races of the Union;

(e) To infuse the spirit of desiring to serve in order to raise the standard of living of the national races of the Union;

(f) To produce good educational personnel who are free from party politics and who are of good moral   character;

(g) To keep alive and promote the spirit of desiring to preserve the causes of non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and ensuring the perpetuation of the sovereignty of the state.

     The name of the  University for the Development of the National Races of the Union, implies the University's main objective of bringing about the development of the national races. Then '' Myanmar'' represents over one hundred national races who always live with   mutual understanding, fraternity and respect. It is believed that the nation's genuine strength lies within the nation itself and its prosperity chiefly depends on united efforts of all national races. This firm belief led to the adoption of university motto ''Unity is Strength''.

      According to the book of trainees selecting manual, Central and States at Regions level Trainees Selecting Committee have formed with the Head of Deputy from Respective Union Ministries;
