Corrugated iron sheets and school uniforms were provided yesterday morning to residents and students who had temporarily fled Falam and have since returned to the town.
During the donation ceremony, Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Maj-Gen Kyaw Swa Oo delivered remarks and, together with committee members, provided 1,200 CI sheets to residents whose homes had been damaged or destroyed after returning from temporary displacement. A total of 3,000 sets of school uniforms were also donated to basic education students. Afterwards, the deputy minister and officials met Christian religious leaders and town elders at the meeting hall of the District General Administration Department.
Falam elders outlined local development needs, while the deputy minister and officials responded with explanations and discussions on the issues raised.
