Electricity has been supplied to Falam and nearby villages through two 400-kilowatt power generators. Repair works are currently being carried out on the Ngasitsva hydropower plant, offices and staff housing units that were partially damaged due to terrorist attacks. Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Maj-Gen Kyaw Swa Oo and relevant officials inspected the repair works yesterday.
During the inspection, the officials from the hydropower plant reported on the machinery that had been damaged or lost due to terrorist acts and the current status of the plant’s rehabilitation. The deputy minister provided necessary assistance and coordinated the required measures.
He also inspected the salvage operations for materials from the partially damaged building of the Falam Township Department of Rural Road Development, the roof replacement and repair works at the District Fire Services Office and staff housing, and the reconstruction and renovation works being carried out with financial support from the National Disaster Management Committee at the Falam District Department of Sports and Physical Education Office, Falam District Information and Public Relations Department Office, Falam Myoma Police Station and Township Land Records Department Office. He instructed the need to complete the work plans within the time frame and meet the standards.
